This auction is for a rare antique map which I think is possibly hand painted in places, I could be wrong.

The map appears to be an unfinished, early version of the John Speede Map of Cambridgeshire.

I am afraid that I do not know whether this is an early engraving or a lithograph and leave it to collectors to decide.

The map is mounted on an old piece of off-white cloth and has been kept in an old folder (seen in some of the photographs) for many years.

Approximate measurements of the map:  20" x 13.5 or 51 cm x 34 cm  - the cloth backing adds about a 5 cm border to these measurements.

To protect it, the map will still be stored in the folder when I post it, see final images.

There are clear condition issues, so please take time to view all of the photographs as these are always the most helpful part of a condition report, but please also read the item specifics and my written condition report, prior to bidding.
