For sale is this fine French portrait drawing, a find on a local market in the Gard region.

The drawing, executed in pencil on 19th century paper, depicts a portrait of a nobleman.

Authorship : the drawing is from the French School, by a 19th century follower of Nicolas Lagneau (1590-1660)/ The influence of François Clouet (ca. 1510-1572) can also be noticed.

Period : ca. 1830-1840.

Size : 26x18cm.

Condition : Fairly good. Some scattered dirt throughout. Top zone right : two small holes. Right side : traces of folding. Unframed.
