Description:  It is an original antique copper engraved print over 300 years old with the embossed plate marks around the edges, accompanied by Dutch text printed by wood block. It is by Pieter Van der AA, sometimes spelled as Vander AA (1659-1733), a Dutch mapmaker and publisher who was located in Leyden, best known for his atlases and volumes on the Voyages of Exploration. We received the print in a lot from Denmark along with many other prints and a number of the original title pages, which all have the date of 1706, thus the date of the print is fairly certain. The prints and title pages are all being listed separately at this time, so if the original title page is desired one might check the other listings, however there are often several prints associated with each title page. Overall a nice quality antique print in great shape. There is related text on the reverse as well.

Size: The engraved print measures approximately 5 by 7 inches on a 9 by 14 1/2" page as seen in the pic.

Condition: The print is in Good condition for its age with very minor tonal ageing, basically as seen in the pic. It is printed on nice strong high rag paper of the period with the typical linear striations seen when held to the light. The lay of the paper is a little uneven around the edges as expected and some minor bumping on the edges. There is a rust spot on the print, one small pinhole, otherwise it is in very clean, see the pic for more on condition. The pics are of the actual page.
