Description:  Two separate items that could be framed as a pair. An original antique map approximately 155 years old with original hand coloring as issued and a print from the same atlas, uncolored as issued. They are from Morse and Gaston's Diamond Atlas, published in New York by Samuel Gaston, 1857. A facsimile copy of the title page will also be included for authenticity. The map is by Samuel Gaston and Sidney Morse, the brother of Samuel Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. Their father was Jedidiah Morse, also a mapmaker and publisher in New York. The map and print are not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as two individual pages as seen in the pic. Overall, a nice antique miniature map and print that would frame up nicely as a pair!
Size: The map image measures approximately 5 by 6 inches (12x15cm) on a 6 by 7 1/4" (15x18cm) page with a margin all around for framing as seen in the pic.
Condition: Both are in Very Good or better condition with overall tonal aging and original hand coloring on the map as issued. The map is very clean with no defects to mention. There are a few specks around the margin of the print, which is uncolored, see the pic for more on condition. It is printed on heavy paper with a rich antique appearance that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual map.
