Original 1885 CDV size photo in excellent condition. The masks are amazing and so is his attire. There is a lot of history on line about these Native Americans and about a group that went to Germany.  Rare. This will be shipped boxed and insured.

In 1885 nine Bella Coola Indians accompanies Norwegian brothers, Capt. J. Adrian Jacobsen and Fillip B. Jacobsen, to Germany. For 13 months they performed dances and sang songs for European audiences, including the ethnologist Franz Boas, who was inspired by these Balla Coolas to begin his life-long studies of Northwest Coast Indians.
