A rare and beautiful small lustreware bowl by Aynsley with an Oriental design.  A lavishly gilded and hand coloured scenic pattern including pagodas, bridges, pine trees and temples encircles the interior, the iridescent pale turquoise ground is suffused with pink and green.  The base has a rich cobalt central roundel with complex gold motif.  The exterior ground is deep mottled crimson through to purple overlaid with a gilded geometric band.  There is a green printed mark which dates this lovely piece to around the 1920s.

Size; Height; 6cm.  Top rim diameter; 11cm. Base diameter; 5.5cm.

Condition;  Very good indeed with minimal surface wear with a small scratch in the red glaze.  From manufacture there are a few characteristic minor flaws; to the exterior a couple of pale patches and stray gold streaks, also fingerprints and a few white gaps just under the gided rim  - please see photos.
