POii is a female musician who reigned as a worldwide cult underground diva in the '20s and has recently been reevaluated, including being selected for the Music From Memory compilation "Heisei no oto: Japanese Left-Field Pop From the CD Age (1989-1996)". POiSON GiRL FRiEND is a female musician who has been reevaluated in recent years, and was selected for the "FIELD Pop From the CD Age (1989-1996).

The mini album "Melting Moment", released on Victor's Endorphin label in 1992 to celebrate her major label debut, is being reissued on analog for the first time ever by Sad Disco!

A lover of The Smiths and jangle pop. Born in Tokyo, spent her childhood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, studied French at a French-run school, and grew up listening to bossa nova, chanson, canzone, etc. She is a female artist with an enchanting Lolita voice that has been cited by names such as Françoise Aldi. The name of this solo unit is "Gin Yoku Yoku", which means "the play of the heartbroken".

The name comes from the second album "The Poison Boyfriend" released in 1987 by Momus (4AD, CreationRecords), who was called the "minstrel of the broken heart," and Momus praised the album in an interview when he visited Japan. CMJK, Neko Saito, Makoto Otsu, and Ken Isogai. The album features two cover songs, Mary Hopkin's "These Were the Days" and Jane Birkin's "Quoi," the latter dedicated to the French master Serge Gainsbourg.

The opening track, "Hardly Ever Smile (without you)," is an ambient-acoustic-style self-remake of a song from a mini-album released in 1991 on the independent label Psycho Planet. Following "Heisei No Oto," Music From Memory released "Gaia: Selected Ambient & Downtempo" by Japanese techno artist Dream Dolphin (coincidentally, also by NORIKO), which also appeared on the same album. This is one album that should not be overlooked as the obscure Japanese music revival of the 90's continues to progress, including the compilation "Gaia: Selected Ambient & Downtempo Works(1996-2003)" by techno artist Dream Dolphin (coincidentally also by NORIKO).
