FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....!

 

Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal.

Made in Portugal by the Ceres factory in Coimbra, a Portuguese Language Idiomatic Expressions tile.

Printed in a traditional blue on white. 

(Found with a literal translation, in English, on the back.)

Loosely translates into a House Rule for a Bar.

Reads....... If you are drinking to forget, please pay before you start drinking.

The tile measures 6 inches square and has survived free of chips or cracks.   

A rust spot on the back indicates it originally had some kind of hanging loop attached...... that was lost.   

I inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size.
