Restored 1930's ALABAX Porcelain Over-Sink Sconce with Opal Glass Shade, Rewired

This over-sink, porcelain sconce was manufactured by Pass & Seymour in Syracuse, NY and it dates from the 1930's.  P&S trademarked the term ALABAX which they applied to their porcelain line of fixtures.  The sconce and shade are in very good condition and are ready to mount on the wall.

The porcelain was carefully cleaned, and all of the paint and dirt removed from the sides.  As part of the restoration, we disassembled the pull switch, and cleaned, polished, and lubed the parts before reassembling.  We added a new nickel plated pull chain to brighten it up.  We added new wiring and we also rewired the polarized outlet at the base of the fixture, but since it is not the modern 3-wire grounded system, the buyer will need to discuss with their electrician whether to hook it up.  The original porcelain knob at the end of the chain was missing when we got the fixture, so we added a new plastic one.

The original mounting hardware is included in the sale, a bonus since the original mounting hardware is missing most of the time.

The sconce has been tested, is guaranteed to work correctly, and to be as described.  Bulb is not included.

Dimensions:  4-3/4" diameter at the wall and projects 8-1/2" from the wall.   Uses standard base bulb.

Shipping is buyer's choice of USPS Ground Advantage, USPS Priority, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground.

The fixture is guaranteed to be as described and we will accept its return if the buyer is dissatisfied.  Just notify us within 30 days of receiving it.
