Unit powers on when connected to power adapter, and the view finder seemed to be working properly. The tape door would not eject, I could hear the mechanism running, but nothing happened. I'm also not sure whether the zoom and focus work, again I could hear the mechanisms running, but I don't know enough about a camcorder to determine whether or not it was working properly.
I connected both of the batteries to the power adapter to see if they would hold a charge. The larger battery held a small charge, but the smaller one didn't, I didn't leave it on the charger as long as the large battery.
Please look closely at the photos, there is some physical damage to the unit that I tried to capture with the photos.
