at this wonderful auction is a rare and vintage collectible Apple
Macintosh Quadra 900 tower system. Apple model M4200. The case is shown in the photos in very
good condition. The machine was tested, and works great. The tower
includes 1 security key for the server-focused features of this high-end
Quadra machine. The side access door is not locked, is disengaged, and
can swing open easily. Mac OS 8.1 is newly installed on the roomy and
spacious internal hard disk drive. There is one (1) internal 300GB SCSI
hard drive. There is an internal floppy disk drive, but it is not
tested for functionality. On the logic board is a Motorola 68040 Class
Processor at 25Mhz, 256MB of RAM installed. On-board video port is
present for 8-bit video in 256 colors (256k of VRAM), but there are
additional slots for more VRAM (supports up to 2MB VRAM for millions of
colors using 512k memory modules), and NUBUS slots for video cards.
Standard Apple ports such as SCSI, Serial, ADB, Audio-in, Audio-out are
on the logic board. Logic board has 5 NUBUS expansion slots. There is a
slot for a PRAM battery on the logic board, and may need to be replaced.
Quadra 900 will include 1 Apple standard AppleDesign keyboard and 1
Apple Desktop Bus II mouse, with 1 power cable, and 1 ethernet cable and
1 AAUI-to-10baseT communications adapter. Quadra 950 tower will be well-wrapped when packed and shipped due to its
collectible status and potential value for upgradable design. Product
is an excellent conversation piece and engineering marvel for its
vintage industrial design of the early 1990s.
