Souvenir reproduction of a Hittite Eagle
Do not know what stone - maybe obsidian? It is very heavy for its size - 1/4 of a pound
A little over 3" wide
Does NOT stand by itself
It has 2 very obvious carved incisions which (I am guessing) appears to be meant for rope attachment or as an attachment to another object into which it fits.
It was purchased a few decades ago in the Archaeoloogy Museum in Istanbul, Turkiye.
From a strictly non-smoking environment.
Many of these items are from my store Old Horizons Antiques. In the 1960s and late 70s it was at 195 Bleecker St.between MacDougal and Sixth Ave in Greenwich Village. Later at 276 Bleecker St between Sixth Ave and Seventh Ave South.
I sold a wide variety of antiques including vintage & antique clothing which I am slowly adding here from my 1998 Ebay listing - Shmata-Hari.
I respond quickly to all inquiries. Items are mailed promptly within a day in clean, securely packed boxes or USPS envelopes.
