JUNIOR GAULTIER Vintage eyeglass frames, antique frame style design, Junior Gaultier


Junior Gaultier vintage eyeglass frames.
No lenses, just the frame.
The size is about 13.8cm wide (from outside of hinge screw part to outside) x 4.6cm long. (Please forgive some errors as these are amateur measurements taken with a ruler.)

This frame has a design that gives off an antique feel.
Junior Gaultier is Jean Paul Gaultier's second line, and while Jean Paul's frames at the time tended to have a steampunk style design with screws and springs as motifs, or cyber designs that resembled goggles, the Junior line seemed to have a lot of designs with antique frame motifs, like this frame.
Antique eyeglass frames have cool designs, but many of them tend to be rather delicate and weak, but these are quite sturdy and well-made.
The overall impression is antique, but the glasses also use wide, modern frames like those used by Alain Mikli.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but I personally like how when you open the temples, they don't come into contact with the front frame or the end piece, but the metal fittings on the temples hit a slight protrusion, and the temples float at a comfortable opening position. I like how the hinges are designed in a slightly mysterious way (^o^)
The color is glossy black, and the modern version is a light clear gray.

Inside the left modern section... "5 FABRIQUE AU JAPON"

It is a new and unused item, but there is a scratch on the part of the temple where the lens fastener touches when folded. (The scratch on the left temple is the worst.)
The rest of the item has no noticeable scratches or stains and is in good condition.
