It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person.

1993 Press Photo Nurse Debra Boeck checks on infant using ventilator, Milwaukee

This is an original press photo. Proceeds from the Milwaukee Journal/Al's Run helped Children's Hospital of Wisconsin purchase a $40,000 high-frequency oscillatory ventilator, which breaths patients. Nurse Debra Boeck checks of the status of a newborn being assisted by the machine this week. Pediatric critical care physician Peter Havens credits the ventilator, one of three in set state-all at Children's-with possibly saving the baby's life. Since the infant was born with fluid in his legs, the alternative would have been surgery. Although the baby was listed in critical condition, Havens was confident that he would recover. Photo measures 10 x 7.5inches. Photo is dated 09-18-1993.
