Description

In 1993, the Nobel Peace Prize was jointly conferred upon Nelson Mandela and Frederik Willem de Klerk for their remarkable efforts in peacefully putting an end to the apartheid regime and establishing the groundwork for a new democratic South Africa. The obverse side of the coin bears the image of Mandela, with the words 'Long Walk to Freedom' adorning it. The reverse side is inscribed with a quote from the former president, which reads, "Honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize of 1993.
