From a Cape Cod estate in Cummaquid Massachusetts is this 18" LuAnn Simms walking doll that was made in 1953-1954.  When you legs move her head turns.  Her dress and underwear are original.  She has her original hair set of braids but the elastic at the end of the braids had disintegrated so I added new elastics to the ends. The rubber bands have also left spots on the puppet sleeve on one side.  I didn't try to wash it as you can see it is still pinned to her from when it left the factory.  There are a couple other spots which I photographed.  I don't know if the shoes are original but it is how she came to me.  There are a couple marks on her plastic and a nose rub. I don't dare clean hard plastic dolls that is for you experts.
