Rare Large Norman Edson Hand Tinted Photo of Mt Rainier, Washington. C 1920's

Original label says Kapowsin Lake, however I believe it Lake Tapos.

It looks so much nicer in person. This was by far one of the most complicated photo I've ever had to take a photo of. Due to the dark nature of the image, the glass wants to reflect causing not so clear images. Plus when light is on it, the camera washes out the color.

Size is 13"×29", frame is 16-1/2"x32".

Professional refit in original frame with archival materials. Does have a small blemish that shows at certain angle and lighting, hardly noticeable.

Norman S. Edson (1876-1968), the son of painter Allan Edson, was not only a photographer but a painter, poet, and violinist as well. He spent much of his photographic career based in the Seattle area and is known for his colorful hand-painted images and orotones of Mount Rainier. It's difficult to imagine a finer representation of his early work than this photo here.

Also look at the numerous other photos I have available. Many of Oregon and Washington mountains. Real photo postcards, Rppc, and large format photographs. Black and white, sepia, and hand Tinted.
