~~Dragon Mantra Mandala Thangka Painting~~

In Asia, the dragon has always symbolized strength, creativity, heaven and good luck. People think they have authority over water, rain, floods and storms.Over time, Buddhist people regard the dragon as a symbol of enlightenment.

Mandala is a geometric pattern of squares & concentric circles as a projection of the cosmos. The basic form of mandalas is square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. Mandala is regarded as a place separated and protected from the ever changing and impure outer world of samsara.

Mantra here refers to the recitation of the essence words of the particular rituals of deities. When the word mantra is separated into two segments, it reveals the inner menning of salvaging one's mind from conceptualization, concept and fear. "Man" in Sanskrit means mind, and "tra" in Sanskrit means to protect. "om mani padme hum" the six syllables, om mani pad me hum, mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.
