This is an antique 3-gallon butter crock made of stoneware by Joseph Middleby in Boston, Massachusetts. The crock is signed and dates back to around 1900 - 1920. It is a beige-colored ceramic and porcelain material and is considered an original Americana piece. The crock was most likely used for storing butter and is a great addition to any antique pottery collection.

This is a wonderful 3 Gallon Butter Crock made for "Jos. Middleby, Jr., Inc., 327-347 Summer St., Boston, Mass.  The Daylight Factory." 


 Dating around 1900-1920, this beauty features a Large Butter Crock Form with Handles, and a Label in Four Lines of Advertising. Measures 8" tall and 12" wide across the top.


 Excellent Condition.  Some glaze wear on top of the rim, and some surface only lines on the bottom.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
