This bait was manufactured in Springfield, Missouri and Patent was granted on Oct. 11, 1910. These early wooden lures have a nose-mounted propeller and a tail propeller mounted to rotate the rear section of the bait body. The lure has beautiful glass eyes, two opposite see-through mount side trebles and a trailing treble. The rear rotating body section is painted with barber pole style stripes in red and gold. It's spinning barber pole rear body was its secret fish attractant. A 1912 Charmer advertisement had stated that the Charmer Minnow had a "Body of red cedar, and all mountings in genuine German Silver." "Charmers" were available in eight different color finishes, and there are three sizes to be found: 2-5/8", 3-3/8" and 5". This is a serious headturner that will be sure to take centerstage amidst your vintage tackle collection!!
