Knoll Bertoia Side Chairs, set of 4 designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952 for Knoll. Welded steel rods, chrome plated. Made to last.

This set circa late 60s, purchased from an estate sale in Sedona with other marked Knoll products.

These Bertoia side chairs are the more desirable original thinner steel rod versions, with absolutely no rust, or broken welds.

Excellent condition 9/10, nice shiny chrome with no pitting or rust. Only scratches are on base bottom that touches ground. (60s/70s production is pre floor glides on base).

Dimensions: 21.75" w | 19.75" d | 28.75" h | seat: 17.75" h

Current Retail: $718.00 per chair, a set of 4 chairs new would retail for $2,872.00 + tax

Harry Bertoia's 1950 experiment with bending metal rods into practical art produced a revered collection of seating. In Bertoia's own words, "If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them." Very comfortable and stylish.
