This is John Dryden's response to criticism of his play, "The Duke of Guise," which debuted earlier in 1683.

This copy is in very good condition. The later binding (probably 19th century) is blue leather with marbled paper and a nice, clear gilt-stamped spine. Corners of the binding bumped and rubbed, but binding is sturdy. Endpapers have penciled price and edition information from previous owners, as well as a bookplate marked "Schmidtchen." The pages themselves are in excellent condition, clean and unmarked.
