Incredibly beautiful portrait of a young mother and her daughters, circa approximately 1913-1914. It’s identified on the back as Agnes, Florence & Helen Christofferson - Indiana. Census records show this family living in La Porte in 1920; Agnes was born in Sweden around 1894, married Charles Christofferson (not pictured) and in 1920, these darling girls were ages 7&8. I love the spontaneous imagery here of a mother sitting with her young girls, the baby holding a little doll and mother seemingly in conversation with the children. The art nouveau styling and beautiful subjects make this photo so very special.

Photo measures approximately 11” long by about 7” wide in its mat. I am not sure what type of photo this is but my best guess based on its heavy paper is an albumen print. I’m not positive of that.

Photo has some surface scratches and discoloration as shown. A lot of edge wear and small spots and abrasions on mat. Writing, as shown, as well as foxing on back. The photographer, identified on front as Koch Studio in La Porte, Indiana. Please review photos carefully for best representation of condition and content.

Shipped in careful packaging from a smoke free home- buy item is very, very old and may have a vintage scent :)
