Zenith 1956 manual wind 18k rose gold 36mm watch (cal. 126) exc++++.

Trattasi di un bell'orologio Zenith da uomo di circa 70 anni fa, un vero "vintage" con cassa in oro rosa 18K, bello e molto tipico degli anni '50.

Databile 1956 (matricola movimento 4463xxx), questo orologio è in condizioni più che buone, il quadrante ha lancette "Index" applicate in oro, il movimento, a carica manuale, è il calibro 126, uno dei "cavalli di battaglia" della Zenith.

La cassa, in oro rosa 18k, ha un diametro di 36mm, per cui un orologio "grande", che sta bene al polso di tutti. La cassa non è firmata Zenith, perchè, come succedeva spesso negli anni '50 (e sarebbe poi successa la stessa cosa all'inizio degli anni '70...), si preferiva importare il movimento e non il metallo prezioso, per una questione di tassazioni, e poi gli importatori facevano produrre le casse dai migliori cassai italiani, spesso a Bologna o Torino, infatti i collezionisti conoscono bene questo accadimento dell'epoca. Non sono in grado di capire se la corona sia quella originale o meno, comunque non è (e non era) marcata Zenith.

L'orologio è, come già detto, in condizioni buone, bello e sano, ancora oggi ovviamente usabilissimo, tiene abbastanza bene il tempo ed è molto molto bello davvero...

Ribadisco che il diametro della cassa è un ottimo 36mm escluso la corona.

This is a handsome Zenith men's watch from about 70 years ago, a true 'vintage' with an 18K rose gold case, beautiful and very typical of the 1950s.

Dated 1956 (movement serial no. 4463xxx), this watch is in more than good condition, the dial has gold applied 'Index' hands, the movement, hand-wound, is calibre 126, one of Zenith's 'workhorses'.

The case, in 18k rose gold, has a diameter of 36mm, so it is a 'big' watch, which fits on everyone's wrist. The case is not signed Zenith, because, as often happened in the 1950s (and then the same thing would happen in the early 1970s...), it was preferred to import the movement and not the precious metal, for a question of taxation, and then the importers would have the cases produced by the best Italian case-makers, often in Bologna or Turin, in fact collectors are well aware of this happening at the time. I cannot tell whether the crown is the original one or not, in any case it is not (and was not) marked Zenith.

The watch is, as already mentioned, in good condition, nice and sound, still obviously usable today, it keeps time quite well and is very very nice indeed...

I repeat that the diameter of the case is an excellent 36mm excluding the crown.
