ORTOFON VNL Premounted MM DJ Cartridge with Headshell

The long-awaited VNL Premounted model with a headshell installed.

I want a cartridge that doesn't skip. This has been the long-cherished wish of DJs who work with vinyl for many years. To make this dream come true, Ortofon asked turntablists who have won world champions in the world's best competitions such as DMC and IDA to cooperate. We carefully and sincerely picked up the image of what they were looking for in a DJ cartridge for the new era, and proceeded with development. In addition, the smooth operation in the DVS environment, which has become the standard for today's DJs, and the portablist environment, which has been increasing in recent years, were also taken into consideration. The VNL is the result of the combined ideals of turntablists and Ortofon, and was born as a dream cartridge that combines extremely clear, high-quality sound with needle skipping resistance during hard playing.

The VNL Single Pack is a premounted version of the VNL Single Pack, with the same cartridge body as the SH-4 Black headshell and leadwire wiring already completed. The VNL is an MM cartridge and can be used without any additional equipment if you have an amplifier or mixer with a PHONO input.

The VNL Premounted can be tuned with three different styli (interchangeable needles) and does not "fly":

The VNL Premounted has a "Stylus VNL II" attached to the cartridge body, just like the VNL Single Pack, which is a single cartridge model. Based on the standard model "II," the softness of the needle tip can be adjusted by switching between the more flexible "I" and the most resilient "III" (I and III sold separately), allowing for fine tuning of the tone during playback and the tactile feel during DJ play. Ortofon designs, mixes, and manages the production of the "damper," a rubber component that determines the softness of the needle tip, in a specialized damper laboratory located in the company's own factory. The three types of "non-flying" stylus, the most distinctive feature of the VNL, are the crystallization of Altophon's advanced technology.
