FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....!

 

Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal, that of a retired antiques dealer.

Purchased decades ago at the Flea Market in Paris..... French Opalescent flared skirt style, ribbed and crimped pendant shade.

The shade measures 6 1/4 inches across the opening.  The hole for an adapter is 2 1/8th inches across and the shade stands a tad shy of 4 inches tall.

It dates from the early 1900s and has survived free of cracks or abrasions.  The flared rim is free of chips or bites.

The opening has a small pea sized chip as well as a few bites on the very edge that would be concealed by an adapter.
