As a professional restorer and a guardian of vintage treasures, I'm on a mission to rescue these timeless pieces from estate sales, auctions and the jaws of landfill, breathing new life into them for generations to come. As a family with young children, we’re not just restoring furniture, we’re teaching our kids about the importance of environmental stewardship and the value of preserving our planet. 

When it comes to setting reserve prices, I believe in transparency and fairness. That's why I set the reserve only to cover our costs of transporting and acquiring the piece, thus ensuring that buyers only pay what they are truly happy to pay for my work on these one of a kind pieces. 

Restoration Process:

Every sofa in our collection has its own unique story, and our restoration process honors that individuality. Some sofas are in their original condition, lightly conditioned and restored to preserve their natural beauty. Others are truly special but require a little tender love and care with a repair to the leather, and in these cases, the leather is filled and resprayed to the original color using filler, colorants and dyes. For those with a timeless shape but outdated color, we take a bolder approach, fully respraying them using leather colorant/dye to achieve a new hue that compliments their design. This is achieved with professional techniques using commercial grade materials that will withstand the test of time,and are almost identical to the processes it would have undergone in the factory when new. However, we never forget the importance of preserving history and some repairs are left untouched to maintain the integrity of the piece. 

When you browse our listings, you'll find high resolution photographs from every angle, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of each sofa and the restoration work carried out. The only part that we do not photograph are parts that are not on show, such as the linings (underside of cushions, underside of the sofa), Please see our condition section below for further information on linings, leather condition and overall condition of our sofas. 

Delivery/collection.

We can deliver for an additional £90 if you are within England and Wales. This is a kerbside service, the courier will only bring it to your door. If you wish to have it delivered into the property we can recommend a carrier for you. 

Should you need delivery to Scotland or further afield, please send us a message and we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

Collection is available, and many of our customers use their own courier. We wrap our items ready for transport, so please let us know on auction end if you would like to use your own courier. We charge storage for items not collected within 7 working days at 5 GBP per day.

Leather Condition:

Our passion lies in rediscovering vintage treasures, and with that comes an embrace of imperfections. These exquisite leather pieces may wear the marks of time—cracks, holes, dents, tears, a weathered texture, or even subtle water stains. The supple softness it once boasted may have evolved over the years. We meticulously photograph each piece with the aid of daylight bulbs from every angle to highlight significant defects, yet, kindly note that minor imperfections could still be present, adding to the character and history of these vintage beauties.

Cleaning:

As ardent vintage enthusiasts, we revel in unearthing treasures of the past, though confess our cleaning crusade may not win any awards. Our cleaning ritual is more of a gentle caress than a deep dive into spic-and-span territory. Expect a light clean to preserve its character. For eBay clarity, let's be frank—these pieces might have hosted nearly any object humanity has known, though mostly a sprinkle of age-old dust.

Linings:

Our vintage pieces wear their history proudly, linings included. Some linings, like time capsules, grace the interior, untouched by the years. Others display a more adventurous spirit, with playful tears and delightful frays—a reflection of a life well-lived. On rare occasions, a lining might opt for invisibility, sparking curiosity. These linings are our hidden heroes, silently enhancing the vintage allure of these weathered leather pieces. It's worth noting that water stains may also leave their mark on the linings, further encapsulating the journey of time.

Scent:

Ah, the enigmatic realm of scent, a hallmark of all vintage pieces. We lightly deodorize our items, yet like seasoned voyagers, they carry a whiff of their past adventures. Fear not, for the neutral fragrance of a well-maintained vintage piece often prevails. Consider it a journey into olfactory nostalgia, a distinct hallmark of the vintage experience.

Feet:

In the realm of feet, these pieces have stories to tell. Once steadfast and sturdy, supporting years of comfort, time may have infused a hint of wobble in some. But fear not, they remain eager to serve. During the journey to your abode, we often grant these loyal feet a well-deserved rest by removing them for shipping—a protective measure ensuring their safe arrival. Ready and waiting for reattachment, these feet are the unsung heroes, the steadfast foundation of these vintage beauties.
