From a private collection near Montargis, is this very curious 17th century French old master drawing.
The drawing, executed in red chalk on laid watermarked paper, depicts a nude man, in our opinion a monk, checking if his washed clothes have allready dried.
Authorship : the drawing is from the French School.
Period : ca. 1670-1680.
Size : 12,9x9,3cm.
Condition : Fairly good. Some scattered dirt throughout. Some tiny spots, a small spot bottom zone right. Sides slightly irregular of shape. Zone below : paper damaged and secured. Unframed.
