Kirk Hammett is the guitar
soloist for a generation of metal fans, and EMG pickups are the tools
of his trade. One of the ways he gets his fierce tone and tight searing
harmonics is from his signature Pro-Series system: the EMG KH20.
This system joins the EMG 81 humbucker with a pair of S single-coil
pickups. These pickups are all built using ceramic bar magnets for the
tightest, most controlled sound with incredible versatility and sustain.
This setup comes with one tone and a master volume all wired on a
custom 11-hole white pearl pickguard with contrasting black knobs.

81
One
of the most popular EMG’s, the 81 is the one that started a
revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture
coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible
amounts of high end cut, and fluid sustain.
Traditionally used in the bridge position of your guitar, this
humbucking pickup will make your leads slice right through even the
densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can
only be described as blistering. Other recommended pairings include the
classic 81/85 setup and the versatile 81/60 combo.
S
The
S Pickup is the ceramic version of the original SA pickup. If you love
the sound of a bright and clear single-coil pickup, but hate the hum,
then we have what you’ve been searching for. The ceramic bar magnet
provides a balanced guitar tone, especially during big string bends.
The S has plenty of output to give your sound top end sizzle while
maintaining solid lows with articulation and presence. Whether you are
playing jazz, country, metal or blues, the versatility is undeniable.
Unlike most single coil pickups, EMG's internal shielding and a low
impedance preamp makes this pickup virtually noiseless while maintaining
an authentic single coil sound. With EMG's solderless wiring, you can
install our pickups easily at home.
