Description

Offered for your consideration is a vintage advertising thermometer and calendar combination. The framed thermometer features a winter church scene, with mountains in the background. Advertising for Clemens Funeral Home and Ambulance Service of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, located in York County, the calendar dates the piece to 1951. The calendar, which is located on the back of the frame, has never been dropped for use and is in the original manufactured position. The original metal loop for hanging is also present, without any signs of distortion from use. Overall, the piece is in good to very good 'as found' condition, with the thermometer reading accurately. There is some discoloration due to age, and the calendar has some rolling to one of the corners of the tear-off month sheets. I do not detect any mark of origin or manufacturer on the thermometer. It measures 7" x 5" x 1/4" and has a weight of about 5 ounces. A rare find for the local historian's collection. Auctions can be combined to save on shipping. Thank you for viewing my listing.
