King John Signing Magna Carta. Featured in The Royal History of England From the Earliest Period to the Present Time by Henry Tyrrell, W C Stafford and John Sherer. Published by J G Murdoch, 41 Castle Street, Holborn, London, in 1876.

Engraved by John Rogers after the original painting by John Hamilton Mortimer (1740-1779). The print features King John sitting on a throne at Runnymede on June 19, 1215, surrounded by attendants; on his left is a bishop who holds a scroll. A smaller engraving of the King's Submission to the Pope appears under the main illustration.

The black and white steel engraving measures 29.5 x 21.5 cms, including margins. It is in good condition with signs of use and age-related wear, some tanning and foxing. Ideal for display and framing.
