The 25-30 mm thick midsole consists of a newly developed composite material made of TPU and EVA and is introduced with the Phantom as ZipFoam. The special feature of ZipFoam is the extremely low memory effect over the entire life of the shoe combined with significant weight advantages and a remarkably high level of agility when running. The difference in the midsole is also evident in the 5 mm drop, which is particularly suitable for those switching from classic shoes with a high drop.
The mesh upper material newly developed for the Phantom offers the best ventilation on hot days and has no surface seams at all. The applications for stabilization are applied on the surface and are wafer-thin to guarantee the best wearing comfort. The sole construction was developed for road running and has a comparatively simple design to build up friction only when it is necessary - but otherwise to absorb the runner's weight as evenly as possible. The Ortholite footbed offers a further comfort bonus and makes the Phantom the most comfortable Topo in its class.
