Every summer, wildflowers spread their glorious color across the
countryside of America - they fill the woodlands, flourish in the
prairies, run rampant in the mountains, and carpet the hillsides. In
1992 the Postal Service gathered 50 of the most popular varieties, put
them in a bouquet, and presented them to the public. Each of the species
featured on these lovely stamps is native to North America and can be
found today in at least one of the 50 states.
