Description

Product introduction

The Asashio type was a fleet-type large destroyer with a total of 10 ships built following the Hakuro type, and was the basis for the Kagero and Yugumo types that followed. This model was redesigned with an emphasis on hull strength and resilience, while having armament similar to the
Special Type, making it the first destroyer to exceed 2,000 tons in standard displacement. The
ship type was characterized by a unique silhouette with a simple bridge, a low central drydock, and a high bow drydock comparable to a special type.
By the time the war began, the torch was changed to the 93-way Oxy torm, and the main type equipped with the first sonar, with the ability to search underwater, was the strongest ship with a balance of guns and lightning, complete with the platform for the fire of the torch, compared to the same type of ships in the powerful countries at the time.
The eighth ship, Minegumo, was completed in April 1938.
Until his death on March 5, 1943, he was active in the Battle of Midway and the Gadalcanal Island Transport Operation.
