This is a very old MacBook Pro (2009 model), in use until recently. 8GB RAM and 320GB HD, 2.8GHz.

The drive has been wiped and I did a fresh installation of MacOS El Capitan, which is ready for its first-use setup. Please note that this machine cannot run a newer version of macOS than El Capitan, which is now quite out of date and not all apps will work on it any more.

Please note the following defects:
  • the fan makes a noisy whirring noise (noise level varies according to whether the fan is operating)
  • the screen is good, but has an intermittent issue which is that when displaying a dark/black image, faint grey/blue bands roll down the image which can be distracting. Mostly it's not noticeable when on normal desktop apps, but it is very noticeable (when it's happening) in a dark game.
  • The machine got dropped a long time ago, resulting in the case being bent near the Ethernet port. See photo. It is still usable and hasn't affected operation.
  • There are lots of marks and worn patches on the case, particularly on the bottom, which is also missing one screw and some of the rubber feet. There are some cracks and missing pieces of plastic on the plastic around the hinge that do not affect operation. Please check all photos.
  • The battery is completely dead, so it only works when plugged in.
I am including a charger (UK plug) that, as pictured, has had lots of repairs to the cable to replace the outer insulation which perished. I don't believe it's dangerous but use at your own risk!
