Plastic pocket calendar. Measures 3.75x2.2 inches, with a 3 inch ruler on one side. Curved corners. Includes a calendar for 1959 on the side with the ruler. The reverse side has a picture of the bank, the words "The Hibernia Bank, San Francisco San Mateo, San Jose, Est. 1859 and "Member Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation." The Hibernia Bank headquartered in San Francisco was founded in 1859 as the Hibernia Savings and Loan Society. Their building was designed by Albert Pissis, who was the first San Francisco architect to study at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and is credited with introducing the Beaux Arts style to San Francisco. The bank was acquired by Security Pacific Bank in 1988. Security Pacific Bank was acquired by Bank of America in 1992. In 1974, a branch of this bank was robbed by the Symbionese Liberation Army and Patty Hearst. (SKU: 25856)
