Sticker set general information:

Each sticker measure 5.4 cm X 7.6 cm (2.13 in X 3 in) When these stickers first came out, there were 50 packages per box, 5 stickers per pack and each pack cost $0.25. The original cost of the album was $0.35. The album cover showed Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, Dale Hawerchuk, Chris Chelios, Lanny McDonald and Michel Goulet.

Interesting facts from the 1984-85 NHL season:

In 1985, the Edmonton Oilers won their 2^nd Stanley Cup with Wayne Gretzky of the Oilers being named Playoffs MVP. Mario Lemieux debuted and scored 43 goals and 100 points and was named rookie of the year winning the Calder Trophy in a hands down competition. Wayne Gretzky recorded his 1000th point this season on December 19th 1984 in only his 424th game. Wayne won his 6th Hart trophy in a row as league MVP and 4th straight Lester B. Pearson Award. Gretzky wins his 1st Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP by notching an all-time record of 47 playoff points. Gretzky would again repeat (for the 3rd time in 4 seasons) his great feat as he scored 50 goals in less than 50 games (49 games) and the 5th time it had been done in NHL history. Wayne Gretzky was a career high +98 in the regular season, a truly unbelievable feat. This was the 4th year in a row that Wayne would fire more than 300 shots with a total of 358 to be exact. Swedish sensation Pelle Lindbergh led the lead with a stellar 40 win performance and wins the Vezina Trophy. Future Oilers "protected player loophole" Reijo Ruotsalainen led the Rangers as a decenseman in scoring with 73 points. Warren Young was a rookie with Pittsburgh and notched 40 goals this season playing alongside Mario Lemieux. Young only scored another 32 more goals in the NHL whereas Mario went on to be one of the best players to ever play the game. Jari Kurri set a league record for goals by a right winger by scoring 71 goals (only 2 behind the Great One) this season. Scotty Bowman briefly demotes goalie Tom Barrasso to the minors while coaching in Buffalo. The Edmonton Oilers topped the 400 goal plateau for the 4th straight season. Mike Bossy scored 50 plus goals in a season for the 8th straight year. Paul Coffey took home his 1st Norris trophy scoring 121 points this season and also set an all-time record by scoring 37 points by a defenseman in the playoffs.

Here’s what you get:

This set is from the fifth year of OPC stickers that were sold only across Canada. These stickers were manufactured at the Panini factory in Modena Italy. Panini S.p.A made these stickers but they were issued under the O-Pee-Chee name. In a complete set there are 252 stickers (163 physical stickers because 92 stickers are doubled up) that are unpeeled and not stuck anywhere. It is harder to find these stickers unstuck, but you will get them here. I’ve included scans of the stars, the rookies and every single sticker in this set. You get one of each different sticker. So if you see a sticker twice, it’s because I want to highlight it. You get a complete set that I have personally assembled. This set is over 25 years old and stickers were cut differently than cards so some may be a touch off centre but I have tried my best to assemble the best shaped stickers that I have.
