This listing is for the rare Rei Kawakubo cover - however all three covers are included as pages 2 & 3.

The yellow die-cut paper sculpture used for the Hadid cover is attached inside the Kawakubo cover.  See photographs.

LOUISE BOURGEOIS

Bourgeois has produced 26 pages exploring the work of three of her collaborators: Helmut Lang, Peter Zumthor and Roni Horn.

REI KAWAKUBO

Kawakubo curates a 20-page portfolio of art, photography, illustration and graphics by the small, select band of Comme des Garçons creatives.

The other two covers are included on the next two pages so this version has all three guest editor covers.

The sculptural custom cuts in a special sixteen-page section don’t appear to be the kind of gratuitous ‘paper porn’ you see in elaborate paper promotions, or in limited-edition laser-cut book art.  Images attached show something of the way this labyrinth of die-cuts springs from the content provided by Zaha Hadid, one of three guest editors. 

Hadid’s reputation rested on two-dimensional work on paper long before she built anything substantial, so it is no surprise to see her work in the medium of a magazine. 

The gatefold cover and cut pages represent Hadid’s Lotus, which was later launched at the Venice Biennal.

Condition is  good. The cover has some light wear and the first third of the magazine (mostly advertising) has slight rippling on the top of the pages but overall its in great condition and the editorial pages are very good.
