From a private collection in the periphery of Paris (Malakoff), I managed to buy a small collection of nine 18th century studies for interior decoration (by different artists and in different techniques) and one study for a monument.  The collection included also one 18th century print with the same subject.

The drawing, executed in charcoal on 18th century laid paper, depicts a design for a monument, honoring a person for his realizations.  The person must have been evolved in military events, but also elements left are showing the engagement towards art and architecture.  Central, there is an open medallion, ment for the portrait of the honored person.

Authorship : the drawing is from the French School of the later Rococo period, signed right below (unreadable).  The artist must have been an architect, active in higher social circles.

Period : the drawing is dated (right below) in the year "1778".

Size : 32,7x22,8cm.

Condition : Fairly good.  Some scattered dirt throughout.  Foxed.  A larger spot due to damp top corner right.  In general, the drawing would benefit from a clean.  Top side : traces of wrinkling.  Sides slightly irregular of shape.  Unframed.

Shipping : flat shippingrate 20$.  Shipped as International Registered Mail (with trackingn°).  Combined shipping available.
Please note that shipping delays (beyond the estimated delivery by ebay) are possible by exception (mostly caused by a local customs check our a handling delay by local postal services).  In this case you can contact me and I will do my best to help you out.
