Have a listen to a clip from this album...Just click above on the video.

This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

These RARE DECCA pressings were only released for a short period as Parlophone were swamped with orders at the end of 1963, so they asked DECCA to take on some pressing.
These copies are getting increasingly very hard to find

2:- The Mother plate number single or doubled figured is at the 9 o'clock position.

3:- With these Contract Pressings, DECCA did not use the BUCKINGHAM stamper codes, so their are no such letters or anything at the 3oclock position

Vinyl:
EX-
QUALITY 131g

The vinyl is in great shape and plays fantastically well with quiet run-ins and transitions inbetween tracks.
I gave her a gentle vacuum clean and then listened to her-all the way through...WONDERFUL! All I can really say is the audio is lovely and clear, with minimal, OCCASIONAL and very light bit of background noise-most people wouldn't even mention it!
Visually there are marks to the vinyl-but these do not sound apparent in playback.
SUPERB SLAB OF VINYL
NO JUMPS OR SKIPS
Remains as flat as the day she was born.

Labels:
VG(+).

There is some central hole wear as seen in the pictures.
They stand out wonderfully clean.
LOVELY PRONOUNCED DEEP DECCA GROOVE
Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd"
With "Recording First Published 1963" stated under the printed matrix number.

This is a great example here...Only marked down due to the back card being discoloured-please see the detailed images for yourselves.
The front laminated panel is gloriously bright in colour and carries only a handful of small crescents of spidering-nothing to worry about at all.
The back flipacks in in wonderful clean condition.
Gentle rubbing/knocking to the corners.
SUPERBLY strong & LEGIBLE spine.
