Marking the 2024 World Money Fair to be held between 2nd and 4th of February 2024, the Perth Mint is pleased to present this exclusive coin show special featuring the 2024 Australian kookaburra design in vivid colour. Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the World Money Fair Australian Kookaburra 2024 1oz Silver Coloured Coin in Card. DESIGN The coin’s reverse portrays a coloured representation of a kookaburra in flight over a gorge with a snake in its talons. The design incorporates a special privy ark depicting a green AMPELMANN™, a Berlin cult brand featuring traffic light men designed in East Germany, during the 1960’s. Included in the design is the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, the coin’s weight, purity and 2024 year-date. The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of her reign, and the monetary denomination.
