Seiko Melodies In Motion QXM491BRH - 2013 Special Collector's Edition

Seiko’s 2013 Collector's Edition Melodies in Motion clock brought upon a new era for the brand. This was the first of the “new-age” Collector’s Edition Melodies in Motion clocks, which featured a rotating dial and three rotating dial pieces. Nowadays, this style has become very popular, and there have been quite a few variations…but this model was the first the world had ever seen. Every hour or when the demonstration button is pressed, the 3-piece dial comes to life and rotates along to the sound of one of 18 total melodies. 6 of these melodies are popular songs from the 1970s, which are hard to find on musical clocks nowadays due to strict copyright laws. A decorative rotating pendulum adorned with Swarovski crystals rotates below the dial continuously.

Notes: This clock has definitely seen better days physically. There are quite a few scratches and scuffs on the outer frame, as detailed in the photos. I’ve reduced the price on this model to reflect the damage. Functionality wise, this clock still works and sounds just like new! The dial motion is so fun to watch. I believe the physical imperfections are from extended storage, because the clock seems to be hardly used otherwise. And even with the imperfections, it’s still a beautiful and functional timepiece.
