~~Vajrasattva Thangka~~

Vajrasattva is a prominent figure in Vajrayana Buddhism, particularly within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Vajrasattva is a bodhisattva associated with purification, and his practice is a key component in the purification of negative karma and the attainment of enlightenment. The term "Vajrasattva" includes the word "Vajra," which refers to a thunderbolt or diamond. The vajra symbolizes indestructibility, purity, and the unshakable nature of the awakened mind. Vajrasattva is typically depicted as a bodhisattva with a white complexion, representing purity. He may be portrayed in union with his consort, Vajrasattva, symbolizing the union of wisdom and compassion. The practice of Vajrasattva includes a confession and reconciliation aspect, where practitioners openly acknowledge and purify negative actions, regrets, and karmic imprints. Devotees may make offerings and engage in rituals dedicated to Vajrasattva as a means of invoking purification and cultivating a compassionate and enlightened mind.
