Antique c1860’s “Japy Freres” Chiming Mantel Clock with Visible Brocot Movement.


This is an antique 19th century c1860’s French “Japy Freres” chiming mantel clock with a visible Brocot movement. This is in outstanding condition and is in full working order. It has a beautiful mahogany body of architectural form with 3 pillar-like embellishments to each side of the case. The mahogany has a dark brown coloured finish with a darker visible grain and a soft subtle shine. The face is circular in shape with a white coloured enamel chapter ring, black coloured numerals and black coloured hands. The face is protected by a flat beveled glass door with a brass bezel. There is a 15mm scratch to the glass near the number 10 position. To the rear is the brass door to the mechanism chamber. The door is intact and in excellent condition. This chimes (on a coil) on the hour (chiming the numbers of hours). This comes complete with its pendulum and key. The clock was cleaned and serviced on the 3rd May 2024.
