Up for sale is a CT Ham 39 Railroad Lantern with a cast Central Railroad of New Jersey clear globe.  Please read the whole description and see all the pictures.

The lantern cage is a bell bottom model with C.T. Ham Manufacturing Rochester NY 39 Railroad on top of the chimney.  There is no railroad markings on the lid or bell bottom, just a plain lantern with the Ham marking.  The patent is stamped on the metal latch that connects the bell bottom portion to the cage.  The structure of the cage is nice with only a minor dent on the top.  However, the lantern is a bit unique due to its coloring.  It has a bronze/copper-ish toning throughout.  It looks like it was painted in certain places but other parts of the lantern look untouched and not painted so I can't really make a good determination on what was done to this lantern (if anything).  Please see all the pictures because it is hard to describe the coloring of this lantern.

The globe is a really nicely marked CRRofNJ cast clear globe.  It is in great condition with no cracks or breaks.  The top rim is clean with no chips and minimal wear.  The bottom rim has one chip but not significant and some minor wear on the edge.  Nothing drastic but   has no identification on it.  It is a tall, clear glass with a wavy appearance but no maker mark and no railway markings.  It has no cracks or damage.  The top rim and bottom rim both of really light chipping but nothing significant.  Please see pictures for reference.

The bell bottom portion burner cannister disconnects smoothly and easy from the cage.  The wick moves normally and the burner wheel is brass and marked as E. Miller & Company Connecticut.  There is some soldering marks around the burner cannister that all looks old, nothing that looks recent.  The cannister is in solid condition and has a heavy feel.

Overall, this is a good display lantern in nice condition for the age.  Please see all pictures and let me know if you have questions
