We find vintage and antique books that have outlived their
best days...
and breathe life back into them.
Page
by fragile page is removed, examined, and sorted. We look for pages with a warm
age-yellowed
look, in good general
condition. When you order
an illustration the image is
printed directly to the best of these pages, giving you a
one-of-a-kind work of
art.
Our illustrations come
from a number of
sources and subjects. Each
has either
mine or Monique's unique artistic touch.
Currently I favor nautical and aquatic themes. She likes themes that can be
part of a
collection. (See her dogs,
states, and
children's alphabet, for instance). When you look closely at the
page, the
vintage text can be seen through the illustration. The combination creates an
art print that is
both vintage and new. The
upcycled art
page is suitable for framing and makes a wonderful gift,
especially for that
hard-to-buy-for person in your life!
The size
of the
pages can vary slightly but are usually 8" x 10 3/4", can be
trimmed
to fit 8 x 10 frame, or matted to fit a larger frame. The pages are printed on a
high resolution
printer, and the inks used have an estimated 100 year life span
depending on
storage/display environment. Colors
are
represented as accurately as possible, but
variations between monitors and printers will always be a
factor.
We ship
in a flat,
rigid mailer, and the print will be in a protective plastic
sleeve.
