stunning Armenian Artsakh/Karabagh rug/runner, dark brown field with magnificent "lattice" type decorations, at the intersection of which there is a myriad of pomegranates (symbol of fertility) in a pleroma of colors; each lattice has a flower in its center, forming together an equally rich and diversely colored field of flowers. In the upper part, on the left, there is an inscription in Armenian indicating: "1900 month, April 1".
Due to its size (280 x 130 cm), symbols and very refined aesthetic creation, the rug seems to have been woven on the occasion of a wedding.
Its condition is absolutely impeccable (full pile everywhere, selvedges and fringes intact), without any defects.
A masterpiece of the craftsmanship of Karabagh artisans and an extraordinary collector's item.
