Three text volumes (not offered with Atlas volumes)

Three volumes, rebacked in half calf with gilt bands, detail and titles in gilt to spine. Orange cloth covered boards. Measuring approx.31.2cm x 24.8cm x 5cm (ave). Occasional scuffs and scratches and some very light grubbiness and marks. Little uneven darkening, else a good solid set. Couple of marks to outer page edges as seen when closed. Internally, modern marbled endpapers to front and rear, the front of which has bookplate (Bibliotheca, Scholae Cranleiensis). Ink rebind detail to front blank. Ink Library stamp to title pages and to occasional leaves in places. Paper label pasted to front blank of volume I. (Captain Barnard Hankey has present to Library). Couple of small nicks to edges of frontispiece. Small stain to top of frontis and title of volume I. Pale toning and scattered light foxing (more so to first few leaves of each). Little offsetting. Some of the charts have been stub mounted/tipped in and are a little wrinkly. Occasional light grubbiness. A small section of leaves have a bump/faint crease to top corner. Lacking half title pages. Occasional mark, else overall in mostly good and firm condition for age.

Three text volumes, with 24 engraved plates and charts (as called for) with folding letterpress table in Volume III. The title pages have engraved medallion vignettes. 

 The first two volumes of this narrative were written by Captain James Cook. The third, was written by Captain James King, after Cook died during the voyage. 
Including the famous and important 'Chart of the Sandwich Island' (Hawaiian Islands), tracking Cook's route through the islands, and with large inset of Karakakooa Bay. The first map of Hawaii.

Shipping

  • We will gladly ship anywhere in the World.
  • We offer FREE UK domestic shipping, fully tracked and insured.
  • We use several services for overseas shipping, under 5kg usually shipped via Royal Mail Tracked. Heavier shipments or faster courier services are available, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred method.
  • We combine shipping for multiple items (Please wait to be invoiced for multiple purchases for accurate costings).
  • We will also gladly hold purchased items to allow for larger combined shipments, (Please let us know before payment).
  • All shipping costs are weight dependent.
  • We ship at cost.

Packaging
All our books will be carefully and securely packaged in custom made book boxes (The majority of which are produced Carbon Neutral). The Bubble packaging and boxes are all recyclable, and most tape used is environmentally friendly (we are constantly researching ways to reduce our environmental impact without compromising safe, secure and affordable shipping). We aim to send all items within 24-48 hours of payment.

Returns Policy
If you are unhappy in any way, for whatever reason, with the transaction or the item, please contact us as soon as possible. Your item is fully refundable if not as described.
