FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE....!

 

Found in an estate liquidation on the island of Madeira in Portugal.

Vintage hand painted bisque figurine of an exotic dancer.

Mounted on a wooden base, the figure stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

It has an Art Deco vibe and although there is nothing visible to indicate its origins, I feel quite sure this was probably made in Japan for export, circa 1960s.

From years on display and prior handling, it has acquired a few scuffs on the bisque finish, the wooden base as well. 

However, no chips, cracks or repairs detected.  She is tight to the base.
