This coin appears to have been carved from stone. According to documentation that came with the coin, the coin was obtained in the 1980’s during a private trip to Yap to study the Yapese culture.

The coin was purchased in the 1990's as part of the private collection of Milan Ristanović, a PHD of Natural Sciences and a professor at the Sorbonne University - Paris. The coin was brought to the USA in 2021 from Belgrade.
